Happy Birthday

Your Birthday. I know its special. Its special for the people in your life. Its special for me as well, though I'm not that special anymore (or I myself don't deserve to be, perhaps). Don't know how I thought of wishing you like this. But all I could do is just to wish you silently here.

The Chocolate Cake Just For You

(you know I don't like chocolates)

Together this time, we can't cut the cake,

But let me do, whatever little I can make,

My wishes and blessings you have to take,

And if you please believe for God's sake,

That this time, I'm really not fake.

Moments

Each passing moment,

reminds me of life not lived,

hope remains intact.

P.S. - First time tried my hands on traditional Japanese form of poetry 'Haiku'. Its not that easy as it seems because you have to take care of the number of syllables in each of the three lines. No problem if it doesn't rhyme.

P.P.S. - I think my first attempt on this genre is not up to the mark (I also had to take help of syllable counter). But, yes, trying is always good.

The Bet

"I love you". My heart jumped out when it heard that proposal.

"Me too", I affirmed it to my dream girl.

And then later in the evening, that very heart felt like a victim when it heard,"I won the bet, my bait trapped him", she was counting her winning amount got from her friend.

P.S. - Tried to write 55 fiction after a long time and it is finished exactly in 55 words. Phew.

The Childhood

"Sir", I couldn't listen until my secretary shouted second time and loud enough,"Sir, are you OK? Its too late and staff has already left the office. I think you should go home and take some rest", she showed her genuine care.

"I'm fine", I got back to my senses but could speak only these two words.

I got up from my chair, gathered my belongings and left my chamber. As I walked towards my Car, I wished I didn't own it. I wished I wasn't that rich. I wished I could be as normal as a common man. And I wished I was never grown up. The billionaire for the world was a beggar inside. The man to whom the world salutes wishes a small corner where it could hide himself forever.

Half heartedly I opened the door of my empty home. No one was there to wait for me. No one was there for whom I'd come here. But that night was somehow different from a normal night. More scary, more nostalgic and more insomniac. All at once and at the same very time.

"Dad, don't leave my bicycle. I'll fall", I pleaded while I was learning to ride bicycle in his safe guidance.

"Don't worry son, I'll not leave you. Don't worry, just keep pedalling", he encouraged me while running with me when I was trying to keep balance on my bicycle.

"Dad, I'm actually riding it. Can you see Dad? I did it. I learned it", I keep on shouting without knowing that he wasn't holding the bicycle anymore and was just smiling and waving from far behind.

I looked back and when I didn't saw him holding the bicycle, I lost my balance and fell down. I got angry with him. He came close to me and pulled me up and hugged me. I was pushing him away ignorant of his sacred love for me.

"You don't care for me thats why you left me alone", I complained while I was crying.

"Son, look at me. I was just trying to vanish your fear away. Until I was holding the bicycle, you were sure that you wouldn't fall. Also you didn't actually fall until you realized that I wasn't holding anymore. You only fell when you came to know that you were left alone. Son, the fear is in our minds. If we let it take on us, it most probably will. The fear fears from you until you don't let it take on you. Son, please understand that I can't be with you all the time and I may not be with you in the very next moment. One has to move on in life alone. So be prepared to take the challenges of life."

"Dad, I love you. Don't ever talk about leaving me", I had stopped crying by now. I got another lesson from the man of wisdom.

I woke up by the noise of children playing outside on their bicycles. I smiled watching them playing. I wished I could get back my childhood where the pockets were not rich but hearts were. Where marbles mattered more than the money. Where love was there, not loneliness.

And where bicycles were more precious than BMWs.

Waiting For The Rain

Heart feels shy and it fears,

hiding pain, holding back it's tears.

It desperately wants to pour out,

but can't just find a way out.

It wants to cry, no doubt,

likes to keep silent, not loud.

Last time when it did,

it cried like a kid.

Waiting for that moment again,

it will cry when it will rain.

At times, its difficult to keep hold,

it has to, its not that bold.

Deep within it hides a secret,

never told, nor does it regret.

Of pain inside, it knows no cause,

yet it is sure that it will pause.

It tries hard, but in vain,

it always loses, never does it gain.

Only tears hold it's hand,

they're also slipping like sand.

It has to wait for some time more,

Can't celebrate till rain drops don't pour.

Waiting for heaven to pull the chain,

it will cry when it will rain.

It can't keep hold the pain,

it has to cry when it will rain.

It has to.

My Sins Against Gender Stereotypes

Here is an interesting tag where you have to tell the things you like to or ever did which the opposite sex is supposed to do. My blogger friend Bikram has tagged me. Thank you. Here goes the tag.

Have you ever wanted something that is considered 'manly'? Like a basketball, a cell phone, a dog, a camera or a new laptop? A new car or motor bike? Ever wanted to be a pilot? A doctor or not a nurse? And the manliest want of them at all - The remote!

As a kid did you enjoy playing with a bat and a ball?

There was a time when books were considered 'manly', women authors had to pretend to be men - would you say books are still rather manly - women should want to embroider or crochet?

If you are a man,

Have you ever wanted something that only women are supposed to want - like bags, shoes, clothes, creams, perfumes, babies, flowers? A peaceful home and a happy family? Have you ever been afraid of the dark or of insects? As a kid did you ever want to play 'teacher teacher', cooking or did you like playing with a doll? Have you ever enjoyed cooking? Bought something in pink? Loved chocolates?

So, here goes my take on the tag -

1. Pink is not the color of guys as it is supposed. But I have three pink shirts (of course all are somehow different from each other). But let me tell you, I never choose my clothes. I simply can't. My Mom or brother do it for me. Lucky me.

2. I'm not a gadget freak like most of the guys of my age are.

3. I'm too good at serving the food (not at cooking, mind you). May be because I have no sister and me and my brother have to help Mom. Well, what's wrong in that?

4. I can't fly kites. Its funny but I really can't. I definitely tried it in my childhood but never succeeded so eventually I gave up thinking - 'Angoor Khatte Hain'.

5. I don't like much to roam around. Whenever I get free time I like to sit at home, sleep, read, write or just enjoy the leisure. My friends get irritated because of that.

6. As a kid, I've played more with girls than with boys. The games like 'teacher-teacher', 'doctor-doctor', 'ghar-ghar', 'stapoo' and lot more. Sometimes I smile when I think of those times.

7. At times I become so introvert and really shy. I don't know whether its a girlie thing or not but I think so.

8. I don't like to mess up my things. I mean, you'll find everything at it's right place which belongs to me. I take no time to find things I need. Guys keep your room clean OK.

9. I don't love cars and bikes and all. I mean I do use them but not crazy about them. I think these are only a means of transportation and not the things to fall in love with.

10. Please forgive me for this. I can't find more points on this.

Love Is When...?

Writing is love for me (silly information, you all know that). But in writing too, my favourite genre is writing quotes. Some like to like poems, some like to write stories (of course I also do) but writing quotes I like the most. One reason is that it carries a lot of feelings, emotions and meaning in just a line or two and the other reason is that you never get bore reading them.

So, here are some love quotes I was writing in the recent days and now publishing. Some of them I also updated as my Facebook status (you must be knowing if you're in my Facebook friend list). Enjoy the read.

and was promptly granted,

The Bane Of Child Labour

"Ting-Tong", I was awaken from the nap in a hot afternoon by ringing of the door bell.

I didn't get up at first. I was home alone so I knew I had to. So, tepid though, I got up and went to the door.

"Who's there?", I shouted to confirm, but none replied. I tried to see from the key hole but couldn't. Then I opened the door.

What I saw made me fully awake. There lying was a half naked little boy on the floor. I saw around but no one else was there. The acrid smell from his ragged clothes and torn body made me more conscious about him. I realized he was drastically beaten up. I picked him up and took him in. He was fainted. I threw some water on his face, shook his body to make him come to his senses. Soon he was. But he was still filled with fear, pushing me away from him and constantly shouting to leave him. I offered my loving hand to him and tried to make him comfortable with me and the place where he was.

"Who are you brave boy?", I asked him curiously while I gave him first aid.

"I'm Harry. I work at a nearby tea shop", he replied in his innocence tone.

"You work? And who beat you up?"

"Yes I work. I have to", he answered my first question angrily and the second one again innocently,"My owner beat me up".

"Why?", I asked this but obvious question.

"I was hungry so I took a piece of bread and ... and he saw me and started beating me", his voice was breaking and then he himself broke up. His tears fell on the ground before I could catch them. I consoled him and offered him milk and corn-flakes.

"By the way, who rang the door bell? Did you?", I asked.

"Yes, I did. But couldn't stand for long and fainted there. I was finding a place to hide myself."

While he was peacefully eating, it left me thinking how to remove this bane from the world. No clear path was visible.

The little boy quietly slept on my lap but the thoughts in my mind were not at all in a mood to stop.

The Confusion

"You don't remember me now", she sent a text.

"I do. Its only that I don't talk much", he replied back.

"No, you don't. You will only do when I'll leave forever. Bye, goodnight", she sent final text of the day, frustrated.

That night she didn't sleep thinking what's wrong with him. But she really loves him.

That night he didn't sleep thinking whether it is necessary to show how much one misses the other. A confused lover, perhaps.
